The Importance of Developing Good Habits In Our Daily Lives / Educational Video

0 The Importance of Developing Good Habits In Our Daily Lives / Educational VideoFrom the public domain film, “Habit Patterns” (1954). The word virtue comes from Latin. It denotes “strength of character leading to courageous deeds”. St. Augustine says that “virtue is a good habit consonant with our nature”. The virtues are dispositions or habits of character that lead us to do good. Virtues are good character traits or habits of the heart. Augustine further defined virtue as “a good quality of the mind by which we live righteously, of which no one can make bad use.” The virtues dispose us to an orientation of life opposite that of the vices. Prayer is also essential in developing good habits. Producer: Knickerbocker Productions; Creative Commons license: Public Domain.

I’m so glad that everything can be cured by prescription medication. Why, if it couldn’t, we might have to take some responsibility for the way we behave and live! What a drag that would be. Thank goodness you were here to tell us that there’s nothing we can do about the way we are, and that everyone must certainly have a mental illness or learning disability, and it’s not our fault! It would be dreadful to have to own up to our own failings.

It’s too bad that Barbara wasn’t born 50 years later. She could be Chris-Chan’s girlfriend.
She’d actually look good set against that disaster that is the Chandler household

    This entire video …
This entire video explains my ex mother-in-law so well. She’s the ideal Helen. I’m not sure which girl needed Dr Phil more. In either case, let’s look at it from a modern perspective: a girl who isn’t a morning person, who procrastinates, is disorganized and either talks too much or not at all? Sounds like an issue w/ ADHD, not something for an accusing, insulting and ridiculous voice-over. Thank God this decade is long gone!
